A brief look at the history of Larkana's Abbasi family in Pakistani politics
Begum Dr Ashraf Abbasi Elected To NA
She joined politics on advice of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and was part of his group in the National Assembly.

She faced strong candidate in her constituency and won convincingly to join the National Assembly.

Begum Dr Ashraf Abbasi was member of Constitutional Committee that formed the 1973 Constitution.

Begum Dr Ashraf Abbasi became the first female to hold this position in Pakistan's history.

Begum Dr Ashraf Abbasi was provincial minister with Local Bodies portfolio, and remained until the assembly dissolved that year.

Participated In MRD Movement
The movement was aimed at resisting the Zia Ul Haq and his anti-democracy measures in Pakistan.

He contested for PS - 31 seat and lost by a narrow margin against Mir Murtaza Bhutto, who was contesting as an Independent Candidate.

Dr Safdar Abbasi Joins Senate
Dr Safdar Ali Abbasi was elected to the Senate of Pakistan for a 6 year term. He was member of Senate Standing Committees on Commerce, Local Government, and Rural Development and Health, Social Welfare and Special Education.

Munawwar And Safdar
Haji Munawwar contested PS - 33 seat and won, rejoining Sindh Assembly while Dr Safdar Abbasi is relected to Senate of Pakistan.

He contested PS -38 seat from Larkana and elected MPA.

Dr Safdar Abbasi rejoins Senate of Pakistan during Musharraf's era for a three year term.

Dr Safdar Abbasi returns to Senate of Pakistan for a six year term.

Haji Munawwar Abbasi Wins Elections
Following the tragic incident of Benazir Bhutto's assassination, the delayed General Elections saw him convincingly win PS - 38 seat and return to Sindh Assembly.

The Year Of Disappointment
Abbasi Family of Larkana parted ways with PPP and contested elections as independents. This was Moazzam Abbasi's first General Election as well and unfortunately could not succeed.

Moazzam Abbasi Wins PS - 11
After a nail-biting competition, Moazzam Abbasi gets his first victory in General Elections and joins Sindh Assembly.

2018
Moazzam Abbasi Wins Byelections
Following disqualification by Supreme Court, Moazzam Abbasi contested the seat in byelections and again won. He received the same votes as he did in 2018 General Elections.

Ready For The New Challenge
Abbasi Family is gearing up for General Elections 2024. Moazzam Abbasi is contesting NA - 204 and PS - 12. Barrister Kazim Abbasi is contesting PS - 11, and Dr Safdar Abbasi is contesting NA - 197.
